Degree: Computer Science and Financial Maths & Stats – USYD
Role: Software Engineer
Understanding financial markets and trading helps identify problems and effectively solve them, especially since financial products and trading styles can impact trading system design. It also makes understanding the code easier – as one can recognise how class hierarchies and system architecture reflect real-world relationships among trading concepts.
Degree: Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science) – Monash
Role: Software Engineer
I had some exposure to STEM in a high school robotics club, and speaking to women in the IT faculty at Monash inspired me to pursue a future in technology. Since choosing Computer Science as my degree, I haven’t looked back – the satisfaction you get from solving a problem after lots of hard work is very rewarding.
